Historic postcards are tangible items from times past. Although postcards today are generally considered as kitsch vacation items, historic postcards present visual reference points of yesteryear for researchers and scholars. Postcards help to illustrate a building or site during a specified time frame or era. In many instances, historic postcards are the sole form of photographic documentation for much of our built environment.
